Opis posla
This is a remote, home-based position. Scopic Software is the largest virtual software company in the world. We have over 200 employees in 25 different countries. All employees work from home. We develop custom software applications for clients in North America and Europe. The company is looking to hire a talented and hard working Operations Manager.
Our future employee will work in our operations team to make sure all our 100+ active projects are proceeding as planned. Will report to the company Operations Director and may manage one or more operations personnel. Work involves reading end of day reports from our project managers to assess progress and potential risks as well as starting up new projects and managing problems as they arise. We have a sophisticated set of software systems that provide data on ongoing projects and allow communication at the personnel, project, client and company levels. Since employees are from all over the world work is always happening in some timezone and there is always something to do. For our operations team, multitasking is part of the process and something our future employee needs to be comfortable with. Clients are mostly from North America and Europe but the level of technical/software knowledge that a client may have is quite variable and thus each client is a custom case. Software project management experience is necessary.
Required Skills:
- Fluency in the English language – reading, writing and speaking.
- Software project management experience (2+ years). Operations oversees all project managers in the company.
- Positive attitude – even in difficult situations.
- Communication excellence. Ability to communicate, especially in writing, in a clear, concise, comprehensive and relatively quick manner.
- Very good interpersonal skills. Ability to read people and mediate situations, even when communicating remotely.
- The need to be organized and detail-oriented. There are many details in this job and if you are not organized it will be a problem.
- Operational independence. The ability to operate independently and make autonomous decisions once given the necessary training and support.
- Risk management expertise. The ability to see risks and mitigate them before they become problems.
- Crisis management / troubleshooting skills. If there is a problem the ability to analyze it, formulate solutions and implement the solution.
- Stress resistance. This job is involves high levels of multitasking and there is always more than enough work.
- Flexibility in hours worked. This job is not for someone who wants to adhere to a strict 40 hour work week as there will be weeks where 45+ hours are required.
- Ability to work in the evenings.
This is a full-time position.
Salary range is $2200-$3500/month depending on skills and experience.
